Dear all,

I know that I shouldnt advertise here. But I shall do it for once. A team of 7 students comprising of Eu Jian Jun (Drum Major) is taking part in a "Young Entrepreneurs Skills Competition" (YESCOM).

Please lend him your support by buying our items listed on http://spfyescom.blogspot.com. We will set up a stall in school to sell the items in term 3. Meanwhile, you can purchase the cash coupons from Jian Jun or me.

We look forwards to your generous support! =)

Dear ALL,

1) Leaders-For planning and executing many things for band always.

2) For being so commited to band, especially during this June holiday.

3) For being regular in attendance for band practices.

4) For being passionate about footdrills and music.

5) For being not fearful of the hot sun (but of h1n1, look at all our fearful look last thu =P).

6) For being here (or there) for your band friends, always.

7) For loving band so much to the extent of hoping band practices resume soon.

. . .

I WOULD NEED YOU, ESPECIALLY SEC 1s...

8) To share with your classmates (CCA-less non band pupils) about how wonderful it is to be in band.

9) To extend an invitation to these classmates to join our BIG family.

10) To create a warm, fun, united environment to welcome any new friends.

I always believe that appreciation is crucial. I appreciate the hard work that all had put in and I believe you will continue so. I also believe that recruitment by 'word-of-mouth' to classmates is always convincing and successful. Well, some of you joined band because some of your other friends joined 1st too, right? =)

Have a nice holiday. Take care of health. Band is blessed. I will talk to all in school when school starts. =)

Hey! Another post for today! I'm bored and i dont feel like doing homework, so i came here to post! :)

Ok, know that many of you are upset that you're not allowed to have sectionals/outings. Of course you all can go out and shop, do homework, play, all these. But dont make it official as in what you all are planning is compulsory. Make it like friends going out to play and have fun.

Also, know that you all are very upset that there's no band prac today and tmr. Glad to hear you guys saying that. This show that you all love band, love coming for band prac, love marching, love music. Right?

Many of you feel bored staying at home. Maybe, find some stuff to do? Watch tv, use com, do homework? Haha, I know its bored. Or online at MSN and chat with the band members? Many of the band members are having MSN conversation at night. Ah, see how nice it is. So many form of communication.

As for today band prac. Its cancelled bcos Hand Foot Mouth Disease is also contagious. Just to be safe, all of us were dismissed. HFMD could also kill, you know.

During this break from band, you could write the rythm of the Jmain Theme, the marches. Be familiar with the fingering and notes. And practise marching at home. Haha, find a space (:
Most importantly, dont forget what Mr Lim taught us.

Not to worry, when its near the competition period, we'll see each other more.

THERE WILL BE NO BAND PRAC FOR TMR.

And no band prac for the rest of June holiday.

Band prac is cancelled today and tmr, due to one of the band member contracting Hand Foot Mouth Disease.

So finish your homework, and get ready for schl reopen! :D Ok! Sooooooooooo, lets all wish the member that he will be alright soon! :D

Take care all! Try not to share food and drink yeah! :) And drink more water. Dont get sick hor!

ALSO! Sls, pls do not conduct sectionals or outing with your members :)
Teacher already told us this.
If you ignore wad teacher said, and went ahead with sectionals or outings, the whole section will be punished. With the Sls, doubled.

Due to schl work, band, our personal life, all of us sure will have stress. Who dun have stress? My parents have stress, my brother have stress ( Unable to finish his easy homework -.-), i have stress, teachers have stress, my friends have stress. So, what im trying to say is, We have all had our share of stress..
All stress is created by mind and the ability to overcome stress is also created by mind.

Everyone is prone to stress. But we can choose how to react to the helplessness and frustration that comes along with stress. Our bodies are equipped with a flight or fight response that served our ancestors well in dier circumstances, which meant either life or death. In todays world you are expected to bear down and meet the situation head on. Day after day, stress begins to take a toll and hopelessness and despair lead to a down ward spiral. What follows usually is dislike for your job, overwhelming exhaustion and depression.

Some of our leaders already cannot take it already. Feel like giving up. Dont give up. If you stay on till the end, you will think that "Oh yeah! I didnt give up. Others gave up but i didnt!" Ok, an example. My batch. There used to be 20+ members, now left with ard 10. Others all left bcos they couldnt take the stress and that they have no time for their friends, studies, personal stuff. I once felt like leaving too. But i didnt. So now when i think back that i didnt left, i sort of feel tat im one of those 'survivors' ah. Haha. Because it shows that you can can 'survive' all the stuff that others could not.

See, now, most of our leaders are sec 2s and 3s. And all of us were participating in the syf last year. Now that we are going for our next SYF together as one again, if you give up, dont you find it a waste? Like your memories of the past, your friends, your partner, ppl standing beside you on the field. If you leave all of us now, wont you feel guilty when you see them? Its like you are 'abandoning' them for their next task.

By giving up, leaving all of us, you will lose your friends in band, wont be that close anymore, it'll just be saying 'hi' when you walk pass each other. I got a chain msg tat says something like tat, i cant remember the words, " Its happy to see strangers becoming friends. Its sad to see friends becoming strangers" You dun want this to happen to you right. For example(!!), Syakila and Karen becoming strangers. Its sad luh. To see them from section mates, to ppl that just walk pass each other.

So, if you're having problems, why not tell somebody? You will feel better after that. All of you can always talk to me, the majors, your SLs, your conductor, teachers, and of cos your own friends! By sharing with family or friends you can gain insight and perception. Always try to make sure this is a positive person who won't drain your energy and will truly listen without criticizing. (MEMEMEME) Talking with friends about problems can make them disolve or be viewed in a different light.

If you dun feel like telling anybody, take around 30 mins, sit down with a paper and a pen. Write out WHATEVER that you are unhappy, stress with, and having problems with.
A friend told me this method when i was feeling very 'low' at some point of time. ( At tat period of time, i couldnt slp at night! I toss and turn, that kind of feeling is really VERY BAD. I hate it!) I was so eager to try that method. So when i got the time, i sit down, scribbled everything out, plus vulgarities that i wanted to shout at that person. Opps. Haha. This method really works! Dont believe me?? GO TRY IT! Pour everything in your heart out on the poor paper. After tat, throw it into the cabinet. When you read it again, you will find how foolish you were!

If not, practice humor. Laughter is an excellent remedy for our bodies. Get together with friends who love to laugh. Or just watching funny movies can pull us through a stressful time the next day. Laugh alot! Talk to me! I can make you laugh. HAHAHA -.-

Sometimes, crying out loud also works. Haha. And i mean those that can wake ur family up one.

Let go of things you can't control. An AAHH moment, alot of things in this life we have no control over. It's actually very freeing to realize this and just move on. The only thing you have control over in certain situations is your reaction. Focus on how to overcome stress rather than stress overcoming you.

Soon, we are going to start preparing for our syf. Sometimes, i think that, if all of us concentrate and put in our best, each and everyone of us. we could get things done faster. Imagine we are doing a formation. If everyone just try their best, reach their position, then the whole thing is done! Whats left is to polish up!

Sometimes, i wonder, why some of us just cannot listen to instruction. Uniform problem. Wads so difficult about following simple rules? Isnt just pe/band tshirt, pe shorts, NOT ankle socks, fringe clip? During band follow the rules, after band, just dun let ppl that should not see what you're doing, see what you are doing. Its just like tat!

Ok, i hope this can help you at least A BIT lah. Haha :)
Today, some unexpected members turned up for prac. Im surprised. If you think you're the one, then keep it up, and come for all the pracs :D

AND ALSO, if you think you can escape your Sls' phone calls/messages by ignoring or faking, then you're wrong! SO WRONG WRONG WRONG WRONG WRONG! We can actually go to your house and knock on the door yeah!

Ok, slp early! Drink more water! Good night! AND DUN MIND MY ENGLISH -.- When i try to type properly, everything just cannot go properly one lor! HAA!
Cheryl:)

HAHA THE 101th POST IN THE BAND BLOG :D
Hello . I'm back but with some buggers beside me while posting !!! :D
Its really a long time since i have done a post for the blog . i really have not been doing so many tings for the band lately ... I feel really bad and yea .
Well , Kai jun , Marcus , Justin , hamirul and of course the handsome and original ME(JJ) and guess what ... we woke up late at night to use Mr Lim's laptop :P
Here is the whole story , we knocked him out and quickly used his com to update the band blog :P
We so noble right ??? Haha Just joking k !!! We could not possibly knock him out ... Later band without instructor . DIE ._.
Haha ok actually he let us use ... Shhhhh :D
But well in the end caught by teacher . Haha wad bad luck :D
Its ok man . People make mistakes and now im going to continue with this post .

Band camp
Well the moment you see this post ... Band camp over . Long long ago :D
If you ask us , we would definitely want to stay on for at least a few more days :P
I always liked camp , the bond , the teamwork and mostly everything ...
We are already one big family if you ask me :D
One band ,one sound. Remember our song ???
We play as one we march as one ....
Yeah ! i saw that in the camp . I really loved it man ...
I love you guys :D
We practically shared everything , slept in the same room , eat at the same place together .
Can you feel the love ?
Everything done together . The bond in which we shared in groups and section ?
Haha ... C'mon let me say man . i dont mind having a few more days of camp ... What about you ???
The word is 'TOGETHER' . The unity of the band as one .
I really regretted going to AEM ... I missed almost everything !!!
I hoped you had fun and if you ask me , but i had fun !:P
Seriously if you said you did not enjoy the camp , you not human ! Thats all i can say :P

You guys can give me feedback ... whether you liked the camp or not ??? What can be improved or comments . SO yea ...( Write down on a piece of paper maybe ? )

What the leader think the band lacks of ...
The 3 things we want to talk about ...

Ok the first thing ... Leaders in the band should be more confident in whatever you are doing .
No matter wad department you are in , it does not really matter if you are a drum major or a band major . You are all important !!! :D
Be able to fulfill your duties is not really very diificult when you are up to the task and CONFIDENT .
Its not easy without the cooperation of you guys ... Band members :D with your cooperation and then the leaders can work and the band will move straight
Punishment is just a form of discipline order . It does not mean you do more the better ...
Thank note leaders .
You command and not be commanded :D
Confidence is wad you lack of ...

Secondly ... The band''s bond . We are about to reach there .
Keep it up guys . You guys can do it ...
To create a bond that cannot be broken by anything or anyone is something we aim first ...
Its like a war . If you are alone ... You cannot win .
But if you are a small army with great confidence and great chemistry . You can also win :D
It just a matter of the quantity and not quality ...
So guys . Keep the bond between each other ... If you hate each other and other ppl hate you then i think it will be chaos!!!
If there is something like that ... The problem will also be my problem .
I dont want to hear this type of childish thing happen . Seriously how old le ???
Haha :D you guys have to respect each other .
You guys have to trust one another .
So guys ... Promise me that you stay like this ok???
Or better improve :D

Ok lastly , knowing when to enjoy yourself and when to joke .
I know that im not the right person to say this cos i too am too playful when there is band :D
I apologise and i promise you band that i'll know when to play and when not to ...
You guys can do it !!! Haha :D
leaders have to do the things first so the others will follow so guys be a leader and lead .
Whether you are a committee member or so yea ...
Haha promise me . Work together this three thing k ???
Haha bye . i'll be back :D

Your drum mjor,
Eu Jian Jun/JJ :D

Hoo! Finally i settled everything for this blog.

Theres so so so so many pictures, and with the previous blogskin (that had lots of pictures too) was very very very lag. Lag till cannot see the tagboard and post. So i change to a customize skin (to try whether its lagging bcos of the pictures). Then i tried, Oh! Can see everything already!

So i change to this. Some might prefer this (simple skin), some might prefer the previous one. But the previous one need to be updated. The pictures are all last year one. If any of you want to make a blog skin for our band blog, pls do so! :) I will gladly tell you the pw and user name.

Ok, as for the pictures. I know its MESSY. Lots of space in between pictures. I actually was sitting infront of the com, pressin the backspace key, scrolling the mouse. Then i thought that i got so many pictures to upload. If i do this till one by one, till tmr haven upload yet. Then you all have to wait for another day to see all your lovely faces. Hahaha.

So, for today, the 22 of us ( Syakila, Karen, Mansor, Marcus, Irsyad, Iwan, Kai Jun, Wahguan, Sulastrie, Jian Jun, Justin, Janice, Faiz, Winnie, Cally, Jun Cheng, Mabel, Jun An, Hamirul, Chao Qun, Yee Heng and ME!) performed at the Metta Carnival.

When we reached school, the gate was not open yet. But what was fascinating is that, theres already band members inside the school! Justin and Chao Qun then told us that they climbed in (Ya, right!) So we walked one big round and went in. So warm up and everything.

Then we had our balloon hat session! :) My hat was all made by Mr Lim. ( I DUNNO HOW TO MAKE!!!!!) Haha!, mine was the tallest one! Then on the bus, Mr Lim helped everyone to make the balloon hat. (Cannot see hor, that mr Lim know how to make) HAHA.

Then the performance by drumline. And then by the band. I think it was good :) I dun think there was mistake. GOOD JOB EVERYONE! And in the goodies bag, theres something wierd. Yellow Bean???? Wads that?? And the soap or shampoo. It says "Cannot rinse" or something. So is that for us to use and dun wash away??? Uhh, i dunno.

Good job everyone!

I am still keeping the HTML code of the previous blogskin. Anyone that want to help with the skin can get the code and pictures from me :D

And all members! Do leave the URL of your blog here ok!? So that i could link all of you up! Okok, good night! :-D
